For example, to troubleshoot, test, and maintain its networks efficiently, Verizon needed a ruggedized fiber optic launch reel that used Corning’s OptiTip® to expedite the testing and verification for fiber drops at newly deployed 5G nodes. Custom OptiTip® Launch Reel eliminates the blind zone produced at the OTDR output, allowing the complete visualization of the whole length of optical fiber to be measured accurately.
