Situation
This global telecommunications company and 3rd largest Internet services provider required a network services supplier to provide cabling construction services with a quick turnaround at its Colorado data center.
In a competitive bidding process, Amphenol Custom Cable won Level (3) Communications’ project to design, deliver and install a $1 million custom cable solution within a very strict, 37-day construction schedule. The project required an end-to-end cable design, engineering, manufacturing, and installation solution, with no delays allowed.
On-the-ground Solution, Ahead of schedule and Under Budget
Immediately, Amphenol Custom Cable sent an internal team of engineers and technicians to Level 3’s headquarters in Broomfield, Colorado, to design, build and install the project on site.
By doing all of the work on location, from design and engineering to manufacturing, installation and testing, the project was completed seven days ahead of schedule and under budget.
Fiber/copper assemblies and MPO test equipment for the installation of 2500+ Category 6a cables, 7200 strands of OM4/SM fiber optic cables, and distribution to 120 Category 6A patch panels and 120 fiber distribution panels.
